How To Get Rid of Spring Allergies for Good!

How To Get Rid of Spring Allergies for Good!

I’m a summer girl through and through, and I am always waiting for the long Utah Winter’s to be over and Spring to finally arrive! Spring isn’t always so glamourous for me though. I get awful spring allergies and they can be a doozie for sure. I first noticed them when I moved away to college at age 18 and they’ve pretty much been with me ever since (except when I moved to Wyoming for a few years which strangely enough alleviated my allergy symptoms!) Once I was back in Utah though, the allergies resumed this time with incredible force. I was desperate to get rid of the allergies for good. I hated being stuck inside when the weather finally warms up because I didn’t want to deal with the itchy eyes and mouth, sneezes, runny nose, and congestion! I found it better to just stay inside and avoid the outdoors as much as possible while I watched out the window as my neighbors happily enjoyed BBQs, gardening, and walking the dog while soaking up the warm, sunny weather! My MO has pretty much been to avoid the outdoors from March until June. This is no way to live, I assure you, and if you suffer from seasonal allergies yourself, you understand my pain. Luckily, I recently got to try out an awesome new supplement, Quercetin from X Gold Health, that has me out enjoying the warm Spring weather every day without any hint of an allergy! 5 Tips for Happy and Healthy Aging from X Gold Health

5 Tips for Happy and Healthy Aging from X Gold Health

Getting older doesn't mean you have to give up your busy and enjoyable life. In fact, your golden years can bring some of the best times you will ever experience. The trick to staying happy and healthy as you age is to continue to enjoy what brings you pleasure while you seek out new challenges and experiences. Here are 4 tips from X Gold Health for you: 1) Stay connected to family and friends. Relationships with other people are the driving force in most people's lives, and it's important that you nurture and protect those relationships as you get older. Isolating yourself from others can lead to problems like depression, so be sure that you are reaching out. Try to socialize with friends several times a week if possible. If you cannot see your friends in person, give them a call instead. Keep them up to date on what is happening in your life and let them know you are there for them as well. 2) Try new activities and hobbies.  Getting older shouldn't mean that you stop trying things that are new. You are never too old to develop a new talent or learn a new skill, so think about what interests you and give it a try. Seek out local adult education courses where you can take an art class, learn to cook a new dish, or discover new ways to use electronics. You could also try a new sport or physical activity at a community center or gym.  Learning something new is great for your brain and your body, so say yes to new challenges. 3) Exercise. Moving your body is what keeps it strong, so be sure you are getting some kind of exercise every day. You don't have to complete a marathon or participate in high-impact aerobics to stay healthy. You can simply take a walk with a friend or enroll in a yoga class. The important thing is to get your body moving. 4) Keep up medical appointments.  Most people find that aging means seeing doctors more frequently. While visiting medical professionals is rarely an enjoyable activity, it is important when it comes to staying healthy. The vast majority of health issues are easier to deal with when they are caught in the early stages, so it makes sense to have all of the necessary tests run and to allow your doctor to check you for symptoms of small problems that can become bigger.  5) Learn about new science findings on natural antioxidant supplements.  Scientific studies have recently found new amazing natural ingredients that have shown remarkable benefits on supporting longevity. One of these potent antioxidants is called Pyrroloquinoline Quinone (PQQ), a redox cofactor and antioxidant. It is found in soil and foods such as kiwifruit, as well as human breast milk. Enzymes containing PQQ are called quinoproteins.  When your body breaks down food into energy, it also makes free radicals. Normally your body can get rid of free radicals, but if there are...

Innovative Treatments That Could Slow Down Alzheimer's Disease by X Gold Health

5 Innovative Treatments That Could Slow Down Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer's disease degrades a person's memory and cognitive abilities. Although there is no cure, there are ways to help patients retain their mental abilities for a longer period of time. Here are five innovative methods of treating Alzheimer's disease and delaying its progress.1. Mind Exercises Studies have shown that exercising the mind on regular basis slows Alzheimer's disease significantly, especially later in life. Alzheimer's progresses faster and does more extensive damage when the patient's mind is inactive. To prevent this damage, patients should stay involved in the activities and hobbies they love. They should also participate in activities that challenge the mind and involve strategy, problem solving and memorization. Puzzles, word games, memorizations, journaling and playing musical instruments all help keep the mind active and help preserve the ability to form memories.2. Brain-healthy Diets Inflammation within the brain can damage neurons and brain cells, preventing them from communicating and functioning properly. Some studies show that there is a link between a poor diet and declining cognitive abilities, and that a Mediterranean diet can help fight Alzheimer's disease. The Mediterranean diet is low in meat and dairy and high in whole grains, vegetables, fish, olive oil and beans. Other nutrients that support brain health are vitamin B-12, vitamin D, magnesium, beta-carotene, anti-oxidants and Omega-3 fatty acids. Researchers theorize that these nutrients can reduce inflammation as well as the beta-amyloid plagues that disrupt the brain's signaling system.3. Physical Exercise Physical exercise can keep the brain healthy by improving blood circulation. When the blood circulates well, it delivers the oxygen, minerals and vitamins to the brain and helps it stay active. Studies by the Alzheimer's Research & Prevention Foundation show that physical exercise helps the brain preserve memories and develop new ones. Additionally, group exercise provides social stimulation and interaction that can also ward off the damage from Alzheimer's.4. Therapeutic Massage Studies have proved that massage therapy and therapeutic touch are both effective ways to re-balance a person's energy field. Imbalances often make patients agitated and disruptive, especially in the later stages of Alzheimer's. Therapeutic touch consists of holding one's hands close to the affected person without actual physical contact. This action corrects the energy imbalance and provides a calming effect. Therapeutic touch has also been found to reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol, thus leaving the person calmer and in a more stable mood.5. Supplements As researchers work on cures for Alzheimer's disease, they often discover that certain substances can slow the disease's progress. These include food supplements and herbs that boost memory and brain power. Some have shown promise in delaying the disease's long-term effects, such as phosphatidylserine, a fatty substance produced in the body that covers and protects every cell in the body and is involved in the clotting function of the body. It's particularly vital for the proper functioning of nerve cells within the brain, helping to transmit messages between them. X Gold Health offers a 2-in-1 brain supplement combining phosphatidylserine and bacopa monnieri, to help heighten memorization,...

Quercetin Benefits by X Gold Health Vitamins

The Amazing Quercetin Benefits and it's Power on Fighting Diseases

There is an increased interest among diverse consumer groups such as athletes, military and millennials for new plant derived flavonoids to enhance performance and improve health. Flavonoids possess wide spectrum of biological activities that might be able to influence processes which are disrupted in a disease. One of these novel rising stars in nutrition is called Quercetin, a high-profile flavonoid of the polyphenol group, extracted from different plant sources, mostly found in onions, grapes, berries, cherries, broccoli, teas and citrus fruits. Quercetin Benefits are broad! The beneficial effects of flavonoids like Quercetin come from their ability to function as antioxidant inside your body, neutralizing free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules that may cause cellular damage when their levels become too high. Damage caused by free radicals has been linked to numerous chronic conditions, including cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.Based on several scientific research, Quercetin benefits are broad and may help you fight against the following conditions:Allergies, asthma, hay fever and hives In test tubes, quercetin prevents immune cells from releasing histamines, which are chemicals that cause allergic reactions. Researchers think that quercetin may help reduce symptoms of allergies, including runny nose, watery eyes, hives, and swelling of the face and lips.Heart diseaseMany studies suggest that Quercetin supplements may help reduce the risk of atherosclerosis, plaque buildup in arteries that can lead to heart attack or stroke. These nutrients appear to protect against the damage caused by LDL (bad) cholesterol and may help prevent death from heart disease. Hypertension Studies show that quercetin supplementation reduces blood pressure in people who have hypertension.Interstitial cystitis People with this condition have bladder pain similar to that from a bladder infection, and often experience an urgent need to urinate. In two studies, those who took a supplement containing quercetin appeared to have fewer symptoms. High cholesterol One study found that people who took quercetin and an alcohol-free red wine extract (which contains quercetin) had less damage to LDL cholesterol. Another study found that quercetin reduced LDL concentrations in overweight subjects who were at high risk of heart disease. Prostatitis Preliminary evidence indicates that quercetin might reduce symptoms of prostatitis, or inflammation of the prostate. One study found that men who took quercetin experienced fewer symptoms than men who took placebo. Cancer Scientists have long considered quercetin, contained in fruits and vegetables, important in cancer prevention. People who eat more fruits and vegetables tend to have lower risk of certain types of cancer. Quercetin has been shown in studies to inhibit the growth of cancer cells from breast, colon, prostate, ovarian, endometrial, and lung tumors. One of these studies found that frequent intake of quercetin was associated with lower lung cancer risk. The association was even stronger among subjects who smoked more than 20 cigarettes daily.X Gold Health offers a Quercetin supplement combined with Bromelain. Bromelain is derived from pineapple stem with many benefits of its own and is renowned for being highly bioavailable. Both components combined together in the same formula have an increased antioxidant power...

Beetroot Supplement by X Gold Health

You won’t believe what this new study revealed about Beetroot!

A recent study by the University of Exeter in England has come up with a new claim for the health benefits of beetroot. Formerly a rather boring vegetable, beetroot does not immediately spring to mind when discussing health and nutrition, but in the last two years, nutritional researchers have discovered that the humble beetroot is up there with the other super foods that are so good for us.The researchers at Exeter have found that drinking beetroot juice can help fitness enthusiasts work out for up to 16% longer than those who stick to fruit juices or glucose drinks. The presence of nitrate in beetroot juice leads to a reduction in oxygen uptake, therefore making exercise less tiring. Beetroot juice has been attributed with helping to lower blood pressure and a daily glass of beetroot juice can aid hypertension and many cardiovascular diseases, but this is the first time that it has been linked with boosting energy levels. The blood pressure link was found in a study by the London School of Medicine and the Peninsular School. But if recollections of childhood encounters with acidic pickled beet are clouding your judgement, it may be time for a rethink on the subject. There is now a better way to add beetroot nutrients to your daily diet and get all the benefits: natural supplements. No wonder why X Gold Health Beet Root Organic Veggie Caps are so popular. These beet root pills leverage all the power of the beet root, a superfood, for you to experience a new level of total body wellness. And don’t be alarmed if you notice that your urine has turned bright pink. This is the effect of the betacyanin it contains, which gives the beetroot it’s distinctive colour. It has anti-cancer properties, particularly cancers of the stomach and colon, so don’t let this unfortunate side effect put you off. It is quite harmless. 5 Things You Really Need to Know About Vitamin D

5 Things You Really Need to Know About Vitamin D

Vitamin D, also called the sunshine vitamin, is critical for bone and immune health. It boosts bone health by increasing the amount of calcium you absorb from your gut and kidneys. Vitamin D also modulates the activity of the immune system, helping to finely tune it so it reacts against foreign invaders but doesn't promote inflammation. However, up to 75% of people are low or marginally low in vitamin D and there are lots of misunderstandings about this important vitamin. Here are five things you really need to know about vitamin D.    1. Food Isn't a Good Source of Vitamin D You might think you can meet your vitamin D needs through diet alone, but that's hard to do. Except for fatty fish, like salmon, cod liver oil, egg yolks, and foods fortified with vitamin D, most foods contain little or no vitamin D. Your body gets most of its vitamin D from sun exposure. When ultraviolet light rays hit your skin, your skin makes a vitamin D precursor from cholesterol. Your liver and kidneys activate this precursor to form vitamin D, also known as calcitriol. That's why sun exposure is so important for meeting your vitamin D requirements.   2. Vegans, Vegetarians or Dairy-Sensitive have challenges As mention in the previous item, the list of foods that contain vitamin D is short and almost entirely animal based. If you are Vegan, Vegetarian or Dairy sensitive and don’t eat fish, eggs, or dairy, it’s even harder to get vitamin D from your food. This means you’re getting even less vitamin D than the average person. And to make this even more challenging, most of vitamin D3 supplements in the market are also animal-based. X Gold Health Vitamin D3 is sustainably sourced from wild-harvested lichen with no animal byproducts of any kind.   3. Vitamin D Absorption is Low in the Absence of Dietary Fat If you take a vitamin D supplement, take it with a meal that contains fat. If you do, you'll absorb about 50% of the vitamin D from the supplement. If you don't, you'll only absorb about 25%. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, and absorption is low in the absence of fat. So, for better results, take your supplement with a meal.Dr. Dawson-Hughes, director of the Bone Metabolism Laboratory at Tufts University, demonstrated the importance of fat for vitamin D absorption in a recent study in The Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. In the study, 50 healthy men and women took a large dose of vitamin D3 — 50,000 international units — with breakfast, and then provided blood samples throughout the day. Some of the subjects took the vitamin with a fat-free breakfast consisting of egg whites, fruit, toast and cranberry juice. The rest ate the same breakfast, but with either olive oil or corn oil mixed in so that it accounted for 30 percent of the calories. They tested two kinds of fat — monounsaturated (olive oil) and polyunsaturated (corn oil) — to...
